And thus starts my third week at JoAnn Kane Music Service, and it still is going strong! Also, a resident bird has seemed to take up residence above the entrance to our office. And laid a nest. And is attacking anyone who comes in and out of the office. Definitely scary, but thankfully so far I haven’t gotten attacked yet! But, on the bright side, we have huge windows outside our office where we can watch people get surprised and attacked by the bird, so, it’s not so bad. We put up a sign outside to warn people of Horace, the scary bird. And I thought I only had to worry about the black widows.
This week I did a lot more of the same work, but learned a few new things as well. One program I learned a lot about was PDFPen and how to use it effectively to edit PDFs for printing. It helped out a lot in putting page numbers on the top of PDFs that previously didn’t have them, as well as inserting in cue numbers on top of multiple pages at the same time so we could print them out and they’d already be numbered and labeled. I also got to help update some checklists and manuals for the office so they could be up to date and reflect the process I took when putting together scores. I got to break down a movie once it came back to the office as well, which includes sorting the parts back into cue order and getting it ready to be shipped back for storage at our library. We started working on a very large live show as well for Barbra Streisand!
